The Fragile Dragons Have Arrived in Dwarf Fortress

So with the holidays upon us it was finally time for these brave adventurers to go out in to the wilderness and try to establish what Arenanet wouldn't do for them.  Create a guild hall!

When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see we had found ourselves a little piece of paradise.  A babbling brook of a river running down the west side of our land.  The hillside decorated by exposed opals and gems.. ore to make metals.. a nice bunch of trees for us to chop down when needed.  Then I saw it....

Gold!  Gold ore just.. laying around!  All over the place.  We are staying here and we need to dig in and protect ourselves before someone comes along and tries to take it from us.  I quickly set intructions to dig in to the closest cliffside, build a trade depot, and carry everything inside where it will be safe.  I unpaused and waited for the precision of a well trained guild to go to work.

sigh.

Drakhen and Eliana quickly dug in, discovered a bunch of gold a few feet in.  Made ourselves a storage room for all of our gear that was just laying around outside.

Luna Soulchild ran off and shot all of the crossbow bolts at a mountain goat she spotted.  She managed to break three legs on the poor animal... and then gave up the hunt because we were all out of crossbow bolts.  That was like.. 40 bolts.  The goat crawled away.

Arowz ran off and started fishing in a nearby pond.  She caught a few pondturtles which was nice.  But since we have no kitchen, fish prep tables, or food storage area.. they quickly rotted next to her pond.

Mr Shapiro dismantled our wagon for spare wood then watched Drakhen start carrying all of our goods in item by item.  Everyone watched.  And for some reason Drakhen went and fetched the rotten turtles instead of our food and supplies.

Eventually I got that sorted, people are helping and the trading post was built by a handy Tiny Belen.

We're off to a good start.
